Louis de la Fuente was proud of the team's performance; the players never gave up during the game.

On the final matchday of the UEFA Nations League international break, Spain staged a comeback to defeat Croatia 2-1 away from home, securing three points. After the match, Spain's head coach, Luis de la Fuente, appeared in the press conference room at the Polyud Stadium in Split, Croatia, for the post-match press conference.

Luis de la Fuente said: "I have many reasons to be proud of the team, and I could even spend the entire press conference expressing my gratitude to the players. We knew it would be a very tough game, but the team never gave up and was always looking for ways to do better."

"Our opponents put a lot of pressure on us, making the whole match very tough. Fortunately, as the match progressed, we gradually wore down our opponents and created several opportunities."

“We have always emphasized that the game is often decided in the two penalty areas, and we are a well-rounded team that is difficult to beat. Whenever the team needs Unai Simon, he always makes the timely contribution.”

"It is both an honor and a privilege for me to coach such a talented player. I remember when we were preparing for the World Cup, I even said that if he were to get injured, I would carry him to the tournament. Looking back now, I don't think that statement was an exaggeration. The recognition he has received is actually disproportionate to the talent he has shown. If he came from another country, I believe he would receive much more attention and importance."

"The players on this team are never satisfied with their current achievements; they always want to achieve more and will do everything they can to win. They have proven with their performance that they have a strong desire to win no matter what kind of game they face, which is the most valuable quality of this group of excellent players. We will not stop just because we have become world champions, but hope to continue to improve and grow as a team."
