Son Heung-min, who scored two goals for South Korea in a friendly match, urged the team to maintain a humble attitude.

South Korea, nicknamed the "Taeguk Warriors," secured a comfortable 5-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly match, thanks to braces from Son Heung-min and Cho Gue-sung, along with a goal from Hwang Hee-chan. In an interview, Son Heung-min stated that the team must maintain a humble attitude, as more important matches lie ahead.

In the 40th minute, Kim Moon-hwan passed the ball to Son Heung-min, who slotted it home to give South Korea a 1-0 lead. Three minutes later, Bae Jun-ho was tripped in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty for South Korea. Son Heung-min converted the penalty, extending South Korea's lead to 2-0.

In the 65th minute of the second half, Lee Dong-kyung delivered a cross, and Cho Gyu-sung headed the ball into the net, making it 3-0 for South Korea. In the 74th minute, Eom Ji-sung went down in the penalty area while challenging for the ball, and the referee awarded South Korea a penalty. Hwang Hee-chan then converted the penalty, extending South Korea's lead to 4-0.

With Xue Yongyou assisting Cao Guicheng to score in the 77th minute, South Korea ultimately won 5-0 against Trinidad and Tobago in this friendly match.

Son Heung-min, captain of Los Angeles FC in MLS, said, "Individual ability is certainly important, but I think confidence is equally crucial. Our confidence may have been affected after consecutive friendly losses to Ivory Coast and Austria in March. We hope to build on this victory and maintain this good momentum."

“Winning 5-0 against any opponent is no easy feat. Therefore, I hope everyone doesn’t take this victory for granted. The players deserve recognition, and I believe we are moving in the right direction.”

Son Heung-min pointed out, "We won 5-0, but we have also lost 0-5 before. There are more important games ahead of us. We shouldn't be overly excited when we win, nor overly frustrated when we lose. We must continue to address the team's problems and keep improving ourselves."

When asked what aspects of the team needed to address or improve, Son Heung-min said, "These things will be discussed in the locker room because we want to maintain team unity. I don't think publicly discussing what the team needs to improve will help us at all."

In addition, Son Heung-min added, "For me, what's more important is being able to perform well for the team, which doesn't necessarily mean scoring goals. Sacrificing for the team and completing the tasks the team needs me to complete is what I enjoy doing most. This is also the value I've always valued most throughout my career."
