South Korea, nicknamed the "Taeguk Warriors," secured a comfortable 5-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly match, thanks to braces from Son Heung-min and Cho Gue-sung, along with a goal from Hwang Hee-chan. In an interview, Son Heung-min stated that the team must maintain a humble attitude, as more important matches lie ahead.

In the 40th minute, Kim Moon-hwan passed the ball to Son Heung-min, who slotted it home to give South Korea a 1-0 lead. Three minutes later, Bae Jun-ho was tripped in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty for South Korea. Son Heung-min converted the penalty, extending South Korea's lead to 2-0.
