After a successful first season in England, Manchester United's 23-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Senner Lamenz has won the Premier League's "Transfer of the Season" award in the 2025-26 season, according to an official online poll.
Lamens joined Manchester United from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day last summer. He made his Manchester United debut in the seventh round of this season at Old Trafford against Sunderland, contributing a solid performance to help the team keep a 2-0 clean sheet. His performances have become increasingly consistent in subsequent matches.
This season, Lamenz has made 32 league appearances, making 79 saves and keeping 8 clean sheets. According to Sky Sports statistics, he has prevented 6.39 expected goals this season, the most of any goalkeeper in the Premier League.
Thanks to his outstanding performance at the club, Lamenz has not only been nominated twice for the Premier League Save of the Month, but also made his senior debut for the Belgian national team last November and has been selected for this summer's World Cup squad.
In this selection, Lamenz beat out seven other top-league transfers, including Cherki (Manchester City) and Yorkres (Arsenal).
Manchester United finished third in the Premier League this season, securing a Champions League spot for next season. Lamenz's award is just one of several Premier League honors recently won by the entire Manchester United squad.
Previously, Bruno Fernandes had been named the Premier League Player of the Season, while manager Michael Carrick and young midfielder Kobe Menou were shortlisted for the Best Coach and Best Young Player awards, respectively.
