Stuttgart completes contract extension with Germany international striker Deniz Undav..

Stuttgart announced on their official website on Monday that they have extended the contract of their Germany international striker Deniz Undav.

According to Stuttgart's official statement, Undav has signed on a new three-year contract which will run until the summer of 2029, with an option to extend for a further year.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Undav, who was interviewed by the Stuttgart official website again, said: "I'm incredibly excited to continue playing for Stuttgart. This early extension means a lot to me."

"Over the past three years, the club and this city have become my second home. From the first day I arrived, everyone warmly welcomed me and my family. Because of this, I've always been committed to repaying that trust with goals and performances."

"I really look forward to continuing to be a part of the Stuttgart family for many years to come, wearing this jersey and winning more honors for the team."

About Deniz Undav

The 29-year-old Undav was born on July 19, 1996, in Achim, Germany. He is 1.78 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a support striker or attacking midfielder. He holds dual German and Turkish citizenship.

Undav joined the Achim youth academy at age 6, moved to the Werder Bremen youth academy at age 11, and joined the non-league club Havelse's youth academy in 2014, before completing his Havelse first-team debut the following April.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2017, Undav joined Braunschweig on a free transfer, and then joined Meppen on a free transfer the following July.

During his two-year spell at Meppen, Undav began to attract attention by showcasing his high goal-scoring efficiency.

After his contract expired in July 2020, Undav joined Brighton's feeder club, Union Saint-Gilloise, on a free transfer.

During his two-year spell at Union Saint-Gilloise, Undav led the team to one Challenger Pro League title, and individually won one Jupiler Pro League Golden Boot and one Jupiler Pro League Player of the Year award.

On the 2022 winter transfer window deadline day, Undav moved to Brighton for €7 million, but was immediately loaned back to Union Saint-Gilloise.

Upon returning to Brighton after his loan spell, Undav officially became a member of the Seagulls' first-team in July of the same year.

However, during his time at Brighton, Undav's performance suffered a drop off due to language barriers and difficulty adapting to the pace of the Premier League.

In August 2023, Undav was loaned-out to Stuttgart, with his ownership rights being permanently purchased the following summer for €26.7 million.

Since joining Stuttgart, Undav has made 117 appearances for the Bundesliga powerhouse in all competitions so far, scoring 57 goals and providing 30 assists, winning the DFB-Pokal once.
