Bench players explode! Knicks defeat Spurs again in Game 2.

June 6th - According to the Associated Press, the San Antonio Spurs employed a "Hack-a-Mitch" strategy against Mitchell Robinson in the first quarter of Game 2 of the NBA Finals, attempting to disrupt their offensive rhythm. However, the Knicks' bench erupted, ultimately securing a narrow 105-104 victory over the Spurs.

Despite Robinson making 3 of 6 free throws in the first quarter , the Spurs' tactics actually fueled the Knicks' fighting spirit. " It felt great when I broke down their plays, " Robinson said. "I felt like they just wanted to get me off the court, which just showed that I posed a threat to them."

In this game, the Knicks' bench players delivered a standout performance, contributing a combined 27 points and 10 rebounds. Shamet scored 13 points, Robinson 7, McBride 5, and Alvarado 2.

Head coach Mike Brown said after the game, "There are always people who step up in crucial moments. Any night can belong to a different player, but the trust we have in each other is what led us to win."

In the final stages of the game, Wimbanyama missed two crucial shots against Robinson's defense. The first was a 17- foot mid-range jumper, and the second was a long-range shot with two seconds left in the game; both shots went in.

When asked about his defense in the final moments, Robinson said, " My idea was simple: not to foul and to disrupt his shot as much as possible. I was focused on defense the whole time."
