Girona have announced the signing of Izan González, whose contract will run until June 2029.

Girona FC has announced the signing of 21-year-old Spanish midfielder Izan González, with a contract running until June 2029. The young player, a product of Branes, will play for the club for several seasons to come.

Izan González was previously a player for Cornellà. In the first half of last season, he played on loan for Spanish Segunda División side Europa League, before returning to his club and then being loaned to Granada. During this time, he made his Segunda División debut and made 18 appearances, gaining valuable professional experience.

Born on November 5, 2004, this player grew up in Branes, Catalonia, and began his football career at AD Ca La Guidó. He subsequently played for clubs such as UE Costa Brava, UE Cornellà, FC L'Escala, and CE Europa, gradually demonstrating his potential and becoming a promising young midfielder in Spanish football.

From a technical standpoint, Izan González possesses exceptional physical gifts and a wide coverage area, along with excellent tactical execution, enabling him to meet the demands of different stages of the game. He is not only capable of defensive duties but also participates in the team's offensive organization, excelling in passing, game understanding, and the seamless transition between offense and defense.

In addition, he also showed great enthusiasm in pressing high up the pitch, receiving the ball off the ball, and making forward runs from the back to support the attack, making him a modern midfielder who excels in both attack and defense.

Girona stated that signing Izan González is not only a strategic investment for future development, but also an important signing that combines current competitive value with long-term development potential. The club believes that the young midfielder has the ability to adapt to the competitive environment of top-flight leagues and will continue to grow in the future, playing a positive role for the team.
