Hoffenheim have announced that 21-year-old center-back Shane Dulic will join the club on a free transfer from 1860 Munich for the new season. Although several clubs expressed interest, the player ultimately decided to join Hoffenheim.
Football director Frank Kramer said: "Shawn Dulic possesses excellent physical attributes, strong physical strength, and abundant energy on the field, while also having significant room for development. He has already demonstrated his ability in a high-level competitive environment and has delivered a convincing performance in the 3. Liga."
"We firmly believe that he can make a significant leap in his career at Hoffenheim and develop into a Bundesliga-competitive player. Through long-term participation in first-team training and continuous accumulation of practical experience, the club will provide him with a good platform for development."
Speaking about joining Hoffenheim, Shane Dulic said, "In recent years, Hoffenheim has demonstrated its ability to provide a good platform for the development of young players, which is a key factor in my decision to continue my career here. I will focus on training, continue learning, and strive to achieve a significant breakthrough towards the Bundesliga."
Shane Dulic was born in Munich and joined the 1860 Munich youth academy at the age of nine, receiving comprehensive training throughout the youth system. He made his debut in the 3. Liga in December 2024. Since the second half of the 2024/25 season, the center-back has gradually become a key player for the team, making 43 appearances in the 3. Liga and contributing one goal.
It's worth noting that Shane Dulic possesses relatively balanced technical skills with both feet and holds Bosnian citizenship. Furthermore, he has made six appearances for the German U20 national team. Hoffenheim hopes that this young defender can maintain his developmental trajectory and become a key force in the team's defensive system in the future.
