Rennes have extended the contract of 26-year-old center Le Paul for another year, until June 2030.

Rennes officially announced on Thursday that they have extended the contract of French center Esteban Le Paul. The new contract extends the original expiry date of 2029 by one year, until June 30, 2030.

The 26-year-old Le Paul came through Lyon's youth academy and spent early in his professional career playing for lower-league teams such as Epinale and US Orléans. In January 2024, he was signed by Angers for €150,000 and has since begun to make a name for himself in professional football.

According to Transfermarkt, Le Paul made 50 appearances for Angers, scoring 17 goals and providing 3 assists.

In August 2025, Le Paul transferred from Angers to Rennes for €13.5 million. To date, he has made 35 appearances for Rennes, contributing 20 goals and 5 assists, and has beaten Joaquin Panikeli, Mason Greenwood, Fralin Balogun, and others to win the Ligue 1 Golden Boot for the 2025/26 season.

Thanks to his efficient attacking play, Le Paul's transfer value has skyrocketed to €35 million. He has attracted interest from several clubs, including Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Como, and Benfica, but Rennes' decision to extend his contract demonstrates their commitment to his future and their plans for him.

Besides Le Paulo, Rennes also have French goalkeeper Brice Samba and Moroccan center-back Abdelhamid Ait Boudrair who are considered untouchable.
