Chicago Bulls' Caleb Wilson declares he's vying for Rookie of the Year.

Chicago Bulls forward Caleb Wilson is confident about his future.

At a press conference on Friday afternoon, the rookie, who was selected fourth overall in this year's draft, clearly expressed his high expectations for the new season, setting his sights directly on Rookie of the Year.

“Honestly, I expect to win Rookie of the Year,” Wilson said. “I will train hard and give it my all. I feel this team is a perfect fit for me and aligns with my vision for the game.”

This isn't Wilson's only surprising statement recently. On draft night, the young player from the University of North Carolina compared himself to Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan, saying, "The Bulls have had one of the greatest players of all time. So, it's time for the next one."

"Pursuing to become the greatest of all time is certainly a bold statement, but that's exactly what I'm striving for. I'm not trying to be a mediocre or average player. If I achieve that goal, that's great. If I don't, then at least I'll know I tried."

Because he suffered a thumb fracture in March and missed the NCAA Tournament, Wilson's on-court sample data is not as good as the three rookies ahead of him: AJ Dibanza, Darlin Peterson, and Cameron Boozer.

Wilson, however, didn't seem to care. He stated, "I've played against all of them. You know what happened when I played against them, so it doesn't really matter. Whatever it takes to prove that I'm on the same level as them or that I'm better than them, I'll do it."
