Hartenstein signs 3-year, $75 million contract extension with the Thunder.

June 27th - According to ESPN, center Isaiah Hartenstein plans to sign a new three-year, $75 million contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The contract reportedly includes a maximum 15% trade compensation clause and a mutual option to amend the contract again before the start of the final season in 2028. After signing, Hartenstein's total earnings with the Thunder will reach a guaranteed $134 million over five years.
Standing at 2.13 meters tall, Hartenstein joined the Thunder as a free agent in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a key piece in the team's championship puzzle, providing interior defense and rebounding protection.
In his first two seasons with the Thunder, he averaged 10.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, consistently serving as the starting center. Despite being plagued by injuries, including a fractured thumb and a calf strain, he maintained consistent playing time and contributions.
In the playoffs, Hartenstein played in all 38 playoff games over the past two seasons, starting 35 of them, averaging 9.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
