Counter Strike 2: Aurora benched head coach Fabre following personal request..

Turkish Counter Strike 2 (CS2) powerhouse Aurora announced through its official X (Twitter) account on Monday that the club has benched its team's head coach Fabre.

According to Aurora's official statement, this decision was personally proposed by Fabre himself, and the club finally reluctantly accepted its decision after much consideration.

Although the partnership between the two parties has come to an end for the time being, Aurora is very grateful to Fabre for his contributions and achievements to the club over the past four years and wishes him all the best in the future. At the same time, Aurora also said that Fabre will always become a legendary model in the Turkish Counter Strike 2 (CS2) e-sports circle.

Shortly after the news was announced, Fabre also published a handwritten letter through his personal official X account to convey to fans his decision not to leave Aurora temporarily. He wrote that in fact, during the ESL Pro League Season 23, he had already conveyed his intention to leave temporarily to the club and team players.

In the end, after Aurora lost to FURIA at the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne Major and was eliminated, Fabre's coaching spell with the former officially came to an end.

Fabre explained that due to the tight schedule of CS2, he unfortunately suffered some minor health problems, which prompted him to decide to take a few months off to adjust his physical and mental health.

Fabre also added that although he will leave Aurora, this does not mean that he will retire. After he recovers from his rest, he will return to the CS2 e-sports coaching circle.

On the other hand, HLTV also made a follow-up report after the news was released. The online media outlet report that following Fabre's benching, Aurora is likely to transition into an international roster.

Currently, the search for a new head coach for the team is in full swing, and former GamerLegion head coach ash is expected to be Fabre's successor.

Fabre, 36, joined Aurora in April 2025 with the core roster of Eternal Fire at the time.

During this spell, he helped the team become a regular in the playoffs, and led the team to win the championship at the PGL Masters Bucharest in November 2025.
