Napoli completes contrach extension with Italy international defender Leonardo Spinazzola..

Napoli announced on their official website on Monday that they have extended the contract of its Italy international defender Leonardo Spinazzola.

According to Napoli's official statement, Spinazzola has signed a on new short-term two-year contract which will only run until the summer of 2028.

About Leonardo Spinazzola

The 33-year-old Leonardo Spinazzola was born on March 25, 1993, in Foligno, Italy. He is 1.86 meters tall and primarily plays as a left-back, but can also play as a left midfielder, left winger, right-back, right midfielder, or right winger.

Spinazzola joined his hometown club, Virtus Foligno's youth academy, at a young age. In 2007, he joined Siena's youth academy, and in 2010, he joined Juventus' youth academy on-loan, after which his ownership was permanently acquired.

After being promoted to the first-team in the summer of 2012, Spinazzola was initially loaned out to clubs including Empoli, Atalanta, Vicenza, Perugia, and his former club Siena to gain experience. He returned to Juventus in mid-2018 and completed his Juventus first-team debut in a Coppa Italia match against Bologna in January of the following year.

Despite limited playing time, Spinazzola still won the Serie A title and the Supercoppa Italiana with the club.

In July 2019, Spinazzola moved to Roma for €29.5 million.

During his five years with Roma, Spinazzola won the UEFA Europa League once and reached the UEFA Conference League final once.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2024, Spinazzola joined Napoli as a free agent.

Since joining I Partenopei, so far, Spinazzola has made 72 appearances for the Napoli across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists, winning one Serie A title and one Supercoppa Italiana.
