June 30th - According to ESPN, free agent center Jusuf Nurkic has agreed to sign a two-year, $22 million contract with the Utah Jazz.
Sources revealed that Nurkic has adapted well to head coach Will Hardy's tactical system and is satisfied with the Jazz's rejuvenated roster, thus choosing to stay with the team. The Jazz management also spoke with Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul on Monday regarding contract details.
Last season, with Walker Kessler missing most of the games due to injury, Nurkic took over as the Jazz's starting center and averaged 10.9 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
Nurkic also became one of only three players in the league (who have played at least 20 games) to deliver all-around stats at that level in points, rebounds, and assists, tying him with Nikola Jokic and Jalen Johnson .
As a 12- year veteran, Nurkic has played for several teams, but his most impressive period was with the Portland Trail Blazers alongside Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.
