Monaco triggered on-loan Barcelona Spain international forward Ansu Fati's buy-out clause..

Monaco announced on their official website on Wednesday that they have triggered the buy-out clause of on-loan Barcelona Spain international forward Ansu Fati.

According to Monaco's official statement, Fati has signed on a long-tern four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

About Ansu Fati

The 23-year-old Ansu Fati was born on October 31, 2002, in Guinea-Bissau. Standing at 1.78 meters tall, he holds dual Guinea-Bissau and Spanish citizenship. He primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play as a center forward or right winger. His father, several brothers, and cousin are all professional footballers.

Fati immigrated to Seville, Spain at the age of six and joined the Seville youth academy until 2012 when he and his brother moved to Barcelona's renowned La Masia youth academy.

Fati completed his Barcelona first-team debut at the end of August 2019. His impressive goal-scoring efficiency immediately earned him the title of "Leo Messi's successor" from the media, fans, and pundits.

Despite high expectations, Fati was plagued by injuries starting in 2020, constantly hindering his career development. Nevertheless, he still won one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey title, and one Supercopa de España with the team.

On the 2023 summer transfer window deadline day, Fati joined Brighton on-loan.

However, his performance at the Seagulls was less than ideal.

Upon returning to Barcelona the following summer after his loan spell, Fati became a member of the first-team again, but rarely received playing time due to fitness issues.

In July 2025, Fati joined Monaco on-loan with an option to buy.

Last season, Fati has made 30 appearances for the Ligue 1 powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 12 goals, and helping the team reach the Round of 16s of the Coupe de France.
