The Times' resident renowned English Liverpool team correspondent Paul Joyce, has exclusively slammed rumours claiming that the club have decided to sell Hungary international midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and used the proceeds to sign Crystal Palace player Adam Wharton on Thursday.

Joyce refuted in his report that the rumours were utter nonsense and lacked any factual basis. He indicated that not only that Liverpool had no intention of selling Szoboszlai in the near future; instead, the Reds might consider beginning contract extension negotiations with the player in the coming months, and might even appoint him as the new vice-captain.

It is well known that Liverpool admire Adam Wharton, but signing him is not the club's most pressing priority at the moment.

Crystal Palace's asking price for Wharton is not just the rumoured £70 million, but closer to £100 million.

Liverpool's primary transfer target remains strengthening their right wing position, and after Yan Diomandé's high-profile declaration of wanting to join Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool are actively searching for potential replacements.

With another potential target, Bazoumana Touré, close to joining Newcastle United, the Reds have begun targeting two wonderkids who are of Middle Eastern-descents.

Liverpool have recently begun considering signing Germany U21s international wonderkid Saïd El Mala who is of Lebanese descent.

However, the Reds have not yet decided whether to submit an offer to Köln for El Mala this summer or postpone the plans until next summer.

An investigation has confirmed that the rumour which claimed that Liverpool has decided to sell Dominik Szoboszlai and use the proceeds to bring in Wharton originated from an article published by Graeme Bailey, a fake news expert of the British online media outlet 90 Min, through another infamously notorious online media outlet, TeamTALK.

Even worse, Bailey is the same person who has consistently used this fabricated claim throughout the year that the Premier League giants have "decided to bring in Wharton in the next summer transfer window."
