The 76ers have reached a two-year, $12.3 million agreement with Simmons.

July 3 - According to ESPN, free agent guard Anfernee Simmons has agreed to a two-year, $12.3 million contract with a player option for the second year.

It is reported that Simmons chose to join the 76ers after competing with several teams, believing he is a perfect fit for the team's revamped roster. Just one day before signing, the 76ers completed a trade, acquiring former NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Paul George and multiple draft picks.

Simmons spent his first seven years in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers before being traded to the Boston Celtics as part of the Jrue Holiday deal, where he excelled as a sixth man. In 49 games for the Celtics, he averaged 14.2 points with a 39.5% three-point shooting percentage. He was subsequently traded to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Nikola Vucevic.

27- year-old Simmons only played six games for the Bulls before his season ended due to a worsened left wrist injury. Over the past five seasons, he averaged 18.8 points per game, and last season ranked sixth in the league in three-pointers made off the bench. His addition will significantly boost the 76ers' outside shooting.
