July 6 - According to the Associated Press, center Jock Landale has reached an agreement with the Atlanta Hawks. The agreement is for one year and worth $14 million.
The 30- year-old Landale played for the Grizzlies and Hawks last season before joining Atlanta in several trades, where he gradually became a reliable rotation player in the paint. In 23 games for the Hawks, he averaged 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds; throughout the season, in 68 games, his averages rose to 10.6 points and 5.7 rebounds, both career highs.
He missed the Hawks' playoff series loss to the Knicks due to a right ankle sprain. Despite this, the Hawks opted to keep him on a one-year contract to continue bolstering their interior depth as a backup center.
Landale joined the Hawks via trade on February 4 and formed an inside rotation with starting center Onyeka Okongwu, providing consistent contributions off the bench.
