Ghana's World Cup campaign ends in the Round of 32; head coach Carlos Queiroz announces his resignation.

Carlos Queiroz announced his resignation as head coach of the Ghana national team in a statement released on Sunday. His two-month tenure ended with Ghana's Black Stars team's elimination in the Round of 32 of the World Cup.

The 73-year-old Queiroz has coached numerous national teams, including Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Iran, Colombia, Egypt, Qatar, and Oman. He has also served as manager for Sporting CP, Tohoku Metropolitan Stars, Nagoya Grampus, and Real Madrid, leading them to one Portuguese Cup, one Portuguese Super Cup, and one Spanish Super Cup.

In April of this year, Queiroz officially replaced Otto Addo as the head coach of Ghana. After taking office, he led Ghana to a record of 1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses, including the final match of the World Cup Round of 32 where they lost 0-1 to Colombia.

In his statement, Queiroz said, "Football, like life, teaches us a timeless lesson: either win or learn."
