Tyreke George has officially joined Everton and signed a four-year contract with the club.

Everton Football Club has officially announced the permanent signing of England U21 international striker Terrence George from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee. The dynamic attacking player has signed a four-year contract with the club, running until June 2030. George previously played for Everton on loan during the second half of the 2025/26 season.  

After completing the official signing, Tyreke George told the club in an interview: "I am very happy to sign with Everton. I really enjoyed my time here during my loan spell last season, so it was always my first choice when the opportunity to return came up."  

“This is a club with a long history and great influence. Here, I have deeply felt the passion and loyalty shown by Everton fans. I hope to repay this support with my contributions on the field, whether it is goals or assists, I hope to bring them joy. Since joining in February this year, my teammates and fans have given me a great sense of acceptance. The atmosphere of this team is harmonious and is still improving. I am full of confidence in the future development.”  

Born in London, Tyreke George made 11 appearances for Everton last season before joining the club on loan on the winter transfer window deadline. The 20-year-old striker is a product of Chelsea's youth academy, joining the club at the age of eight and gradually developing into the first team. Notably, his first-team call-up will be in April 2024 against Everton.  

Four months later, he made his Chelsea first-team debut in the UEFA qualifiers, thus beginning his groundbreaking 2024/25 season. That season, he played 12 of 13 UEFA matches, starting eight, and played alongside his current Everton teammate Kiernan Dieusbury-Holl, ultimately helping Chelsea win the European title. In addition, he made two appearances in the Club World Cup that summer, helping the team lift the trophy.  

Terrence George added: “I still have a lot of room for improvement. With the help of the manager, coaching staff and teammates, I know I’m in an environment where I can continue to improve. Everton has high expectations of its players and requires full commitment, and I will do my best to be the best I can be. It was very important for me to be back with the team before the start of preseason, and I’m really looking forward to getting back into training and playing.”  

Everton manager David Moyce expressed his satisfaction with the signing, saying: "We are delighted to have re-signed Tyreke George on a permanent transfer. He impressed us during his loan spell last season, quickly adapting to the team and making a good impression. Although he is still young, his potential for growth is very clear, and we believe he has the professional attitude and ability to continue to improve. We look forward to working with him again and helping him reach his full potential."
