Chris Middleton, a key player in the championship victory, returns to the Wizards on a three-year contract.

Free agent and veteran wing Khris Middleton has agreed to return to the Washington Wizards via a sign-and-trade.

According to Middleton's agent, he has reached a three-year, $17.6 million contract with the Wizards.

This change is part of a complex six-team trade involving the Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, and Wizards.

To acquire Middleton, the Wizards received him and a 2033 second-round pick from the Mavericks, while sending D'Angelo Russell and multiple draft picks to the Grizzlies.

The 34-year-old Middleton played for the Bucks for 12 years, during which he was selected as an All-Star three times and helped the Bucks win the 2020-21 NBA championship as a core member.

Khris Middleton was traded to the Washington Wizards at the 2025 trade deadline, and then to the Dallas Mavericks in the Anthony Davis trade this February. Last season, he played 63 games, averaging 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Middleton has 80 playoff games of experience and averages 20.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in the playoffs, which is better than his regular season performance.

Having already acquired Trae Young, Anthony Davis, and Deandre Ayton, the Wizards have added this veteran with championship experience to further increase their roster depth and make a strong push for the playoffs.
