Liverpool has reached agreement with Celtic over the transfer of young player Dara Jikiemi..

Daily Mail's resident Liverpool team correspondent Lewis Steele exclusively reported on Wednesday that Liverpool have reached an agreement with Celtic over the transfer of Scotland U16s international center-back Dara Jikiemi.

According to Steele, Liverpool had been monitoring Jikiemi for a year and had even planned to sign the player since December.

The Reds have now reached an agreement with Jikiemi on personal terms, with a three-year scholarship contract to be signed. Liverpool only need to finalize the academy compensation fee with the Bhoys over Jikiemi's transfer.

Jikiemi will become the third player to join the Premier League giants from Celtic, following club legend Sir Kenny Dalglish and Scotland international winger Ben-Gannon Doak.

About Dara Jikiemi

Jikiewi, who is only still 16 years old, was born on January 9, 2010, in Scotland. He primarily plays as a center-back, but can also play as a defensive midfielder. He holds dual British and Nigerian citizenship.

Jikiemi joined Celtic's youth academy at a young age and, due to his precocious maturity and leadership qualities, was simultaneously appointed captain of both the club's and Scotland's U15s and U16s national teams.

Since the beginning of this year, Jikiemi has made four appearances for the reigning Scottish Premier League champions' U18s team in all competitions, without scoring a goal or providing an assist.
