With LeBron James' free agency decision entering its second week, several teams interested in acquiring the four-time champion have begun a unique indirect lobbying strategy.
According to ESPN, LeBron James' agent and Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul is assisting team executives in marketing their team-building visions to James. The method involves team owners, presidents, or general managers recording a voice message, which Paul then forwards to James.
Among them, Bob Myers, president of the sports and entertainment company that owns the Philadelphia 76ers, went a step further by appearing on a podcast with Paul to publicly explain the 76ers' strengths.
It is unclear whether the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat were involved in this move, as James previously played for both teams and is very familiar with them.
Sources revealed that the 41-year-old veteran is currently processing information from various suitors and has not yet made a final decision. Over the past few weeks, James has been enjoying a vacation with family and friends and playing golf, showing no rush to make a decision.
Paul had previously informed teams that money would not be the deciding factor in James' decision. This statement allows teams to continue making moves and roster improvements during free agency without worrying about locking up salary cap space while waiting for James' decision.
