Coventry City Football Club has officially announced the successful signing of 22-year-old French winger Loum Tchaouna from Burnley.
The two sides have signed a five-year contract, and the transfer fee, as is customary, has not been disclosed. This young striker will return to the Premier League with Coventry City for the new season.
Although only 22 years old, Chaona already boasts an extremely rich top-flight league resume. During the 2025-26 season, he made 32 appearances for Burnley in all competitions, scoring 3 goals.
Prior to this, Chaona made his U17 debut for Rennes in Ligue 1 before moving to Serie A, where he played for Salernitana and Lazio.
During his time in Serie A, Chaona achieved a personal best of 6 goals and 3 assists in 35 appearances in a single season, and scored a crucial goal against Ajax while playing for Lazio in the Europa League.
At the national team level, Chaona has been selected for all levels of the French youth teams from U16 to U21 and helped the French team reach the semi-finals of the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
After joining Coventry City, Chaona expressed his excitement for the new season: "I am very excited to start a new season in the Premier League. Last season in the Premier League at Burnley was incredible, and now I am ready for new challenges."
“I have played in the best leagues in the world, including Ligue 1, Serie A, and the Premier League. At my age, I have a lot of experience. I will bring my energy, determination, and leadership to the team. I can’t wait to play for the fans at the Coventry Architects Arena.”
