Bournemouth have announced the signing of Álvaro Rodriguez, who has signed a long-term contract with the club.

Bournemouth have officially announced the signing of Álvaro Rodriguez. The 22-year-old striker has reached a long-term agreement with the club and, after showcasing impressive performances for Elche in the 2025/26 season, has officially arrived in the Premier League to begin a new challenge.  

In the 2025/26 season, Álvaro Rodriguez showcased his outstanding attacking abilities at Elche. He made 24 starts and 10 substitute appearances in La Liga, ultimately contributing 7 goals and 5 assists. Notably, he scored in home matches against Real Madrid and Barcelona, demonstrating his ability in top-level competition.  

Álvaro Rodriguez was born in Paramos, Spain, and trained early in his professional career in Girona's youth academy. In 2020, he joined La Fabrica, Real Madrid's renowned youth academy, beginning a new phase of his development.  

After five years in Real Madrid's youth academy, Álvaro Rodriguez made his first-team debut in January 2023. At just 18 years old, he earned his place under Carlo Ancelotti and provided an assist in his La Liga debut. He then scored his first professional goal for Real Madrid's first team in his second league appearance.  

In that Madrid derby, Álvaro Rodriguez came on as a substitute at the Bernabéu and scored a crucial goal near the end of the match. He headed in a corner kick from Luca Modric, giving Real Madrid a dramatic equalizer against Atlético Madrid. After making 10 first-team appearances for the 15-time Champions League winners, he spent time on loan at Getafe to gain experience before officially joining Elche in the summer of 2025.  

Bournemouth's Director of Football Operations, Thiago Pinto, said of the signing of Álvaro Rodriguez: "We are delighted to have signed a young striker with tremendous potential, which will further enrich our attacking options. Although he is still in the early stages of his career, Álvaro Rodriguez has already gained valuable experience in high-level leagues and played a vital role while playing for Elche in La Liga last season."

We are about to have a challenging and exciting season, including competition in European competitions.
