Union Berlin center-back Dejan Dejan joined Lazio on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract.

Lazio released a statement on Tuesday confirming the free transfer of former Union Berlin centre-back Danielho Dejic. The two sides reached a three-year contract agreement, valid until June 30, 2029.

All indications suggest that Deutsch's arrival is aimed at filling the void left by the departures of Mario Gilardino or Alessio Romagnoli. According to the official statement, he will wear the number 5 jersey for Lazio next season.

The 28-year-old Deutsch was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and previously played for SBV Excelsior, Ajax, and Vitesse's youth academy. After being promoted to Vitesse's first team, he gradually emerged as a star, contributing 5 goals and 2 assists in 140 appearances across all competitions.

In July 2022, Deutsch joined Union Berlin on a free transfer. To date, he has made 137 appearances for Union Berlin, scoring 16 goals and providing 3 assists.

With the arrival of Deutsch, Lazio's central defensive reserves have temporarily increased to four. Besides him, the other three players are Oliver Profstegaard, Patrick, and Samuel Gigo.

Nevertheless, Lazio has not stopped its efforts to strengthen its center-back position. They are still pursuing 21-year-old Spanish center-back Sergio Dominguez, who currently plays for Croatian powerhouse Dinamo Zagreb.

Other reports indicate a significant disagreement between Lazio and Dinamo Zagreb regarding Dominguez's valuation. Lazio's most recent offer was a €3 million loan fee plus an €8.5 million mandatory buy option, but Dinamo Zagreb is insisting on a €15 million transfer fee.
