Former Haitian coach Sebastián Migne has officially taken over as head coach of Gabon, with his specific term of office unknown.

The Gabonese Football Federation (FEGAFOOT) announced on Wednesday the official appointment of Sebastián Migne as the national team coach. He will take over from Thierry Muyouma, but his specific term of office is yet to be determined.

For Minne, his first priority upon taking office is to ensure Gabon qualifies for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament will be co-hosted by Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya, with Gabon drawn into Group A along with Morocco, Niger, and Lesotho.

The 53-year-old Minye has coached several African national teams, including Congo, Kenya, and Equatorial Guinea. He has also worked as an assistant coach in Oman, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Togo, and Cameroon, giving him a thorough understanding of the African football environment.

Before taking over Gabon, Minev resigned from his position as head coach of the Haitian national team. Since taking charge of Haiti in March 2024, he has accumulated a record of 13 wins, 5 draws and 9 losses in all competitions, and led the team back to the World Cup finals after a 52-year absence.

However, Haiti lost all three of their group stage matches in the 2026 USA-Mexico World Cup. They lost 0-1 to Scotland, 0-3 to Brazil, and 2-4 to Morocco, ultimately finishing bottom of Group C and being eliminated.
