Auxerre officially announce the signing of Luton Town's Republic of Congo international center-back Christ Makosso..

Auxerre announced on their official website on Thursday that they have signed Luton Town's Republic of Congo international center-back Christ Makosso.

According to the Ligue 1 club's official statement, Makosso has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030. He will also wear the number 15 jersey.

About Christ Makosso

The 22-year-old Christ Makosso was born on May 9, 2004, in Brazzaville, the capital of Republic of Congo. He is 1.92 meters tall and plays as a center-back.

Makosso played for Ajax's youth academy in the Republic of Congo as a child. After being released in 2021, he played for the youth academy of one of the country's powerhouse in CARA Brazzaville.

After graduating, Makosso joined Sochaux on the 2023 winter transfer window deadline day and completed his Sochaux first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in May of the same year. 

In January 2024, Makosso joined RWDM Brussels for €10,000.

The following January, he joined Luton Town for £1 million. He also had a loan spell at Oxford United this January.

During his time with Auxerre, Makosso made 28 appearances for the EFL League One club in all competitions, providing one assist.
