Bayern Munich have confirmed a contract extension with Konrad Laimer, who will continue to play for the club until 2029.

Bayern Munich have officially announced that they have extended the contract of Austrian international Konrad Laimer until June 30, 2029. This means that Konrad Laimer will continue to wear the Bayern jersey and compete for the team in various competitions for the next few years.  

Since joining Bayern Munich in the 2023/24 season, 29-year-old Konrad Laimer has quickly become an important member of the squad. During his time at Bayern, he has won two Bundesliga titles, as well as the German Cup and the German Super Cup, becoming a key player in the team's success in recent years.  

Bayern Munich board member Max Eberl said: "We are delighted that Konrad Laimer will remain at Bayern and continue his journey with the team. He is a player who can always be relied upon at the highest level, and his individual ability and character make him an indispensable member of the team. He inspires his teammates every day with his attitude and drives the whole team forward."  

Bayern Munich's sporting director, Christoph Freund, said: "We greatly admire Konrad Laimer's versatility, passion, and consistency. He has proven his worth season after season, game after game. He is a true role model because he never gives up on any challenge and always strives to improve. He is also a very important member of the team's dressing room."  

After completing his contract extension, Konrad Laimer said: "Being able to wear the Bayern jersey and stand on the pitch has always been a very special thing for me. I've always said that I'm very happy living in Munich, and it's a pleasure to play for such a team. From the first day I joined, I felt the atmosphere here. I can help the team in different positions, and I will continue to give my all every minute and contribute to Bayern. This team has huge potential, and I can't wait for the new season."  

Born in Salzburg, Konrad Laimer has made 136 official appearances for Bayern Munich, contributing 7 goals and 19 assists. For the national team, the Austrian international has made 61 appearances, scoring 7 goals. During the North American World Cup, Laimer played the full 90 minutes in every match for Austria. However, Austria ultimately lost to eventual champions Spain in the final round of 32, ending their World Cup journey in disappointment.
