Continuing to strive for more honors, Foden looks forward to working with Maresca again.

The 26-year-old Foden signed a contract extension with Premier League giants Manchester City until 2030 today, and the midfielder said he is looking forward to working with manager Maresca again and will continue to compete for more honors.

In the 2025/26 Premier League season, Foden contributed 7 goals and 5 assists for Manchester City, and in the Champions League, he scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist.

In addition, Foden has won six Premier League titles, three FA Cup titles, five League Cup titles, and one Champions League title during his career in Manchester.

It is worth mentioning that Maresca, who previously served as an assistant coach under Guardiola, was officially appointed as the new manager of Manchester City in June.

Manchester City midfielder Foden said, "I'm really excited. We've worked together before. Maresca was outstanding in the treble-winning season. He pays great attention to detail, and it's often these details that make a huge difference."

“Even though I’ve only trained with him a few times, I can already tell what an excellent coach he is. I really look forward to playing under him again and seeing what the future holds.”

Foden shared, "He's a very easy person to get along with. You can talk to him about any problem you encounter, and he'll help you. If you want to improve certain skills, he'll even arrange one-on-one training after the main training session. When he was in Manchester City, I did a lot of extra training with him. For example, some shooting practice, and a lot of targeted detailed training."

"So, I'm really looking forward to starting the new season with him again. We know each other very well, which is a good thing."

With the new season just around the corner, teams have been actively engaged in training and have set various goals.

Foden stated, "I think this desire to win titles is ingrained in everyone's heart and in the club's culture. We are always striving for the next title and the next challenge, and that's the kind of club we want to be."

“From the first few training sessions, we could see the attitude of every player. Everyone is eager to get back into the game. We are ready to win more championships.”
