Maribor's young Ecuador international defensive midfielder Oscar Zambrano officially rejoins Hull City..

Hull City announced on their official website on Wednesday that Maribor's young Ecuador international defensive midfielder Oscar Zambrano has rejoined the club.

According to the newly promoted Premier League side's official statement, Zambrano has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030, with an option to extend for a further year.

About Oscar Zambrano

The 22-year-old Zambrano was born on April 20, 2004, in Santo Domingo, Ecuador. He is 1.76 meters tall and plays as a defensive midfielder.

Zambrano joined the youth academy of LDU Quito at a young age and made his first-team debut in April 2022.

During his two-year spell at LDU Quito, Zambrano won two Ecuadorian Série A titles, one Ecuadorian Super Cup, and one Copa Sudamericana with the club, attracting interest from Ajax, São Paulo, and the Colorado Rapids.

In August 2024, Zambrano joined Hull City on-loan.

However, after making only eight appearances for the Tigers, Zambrano was banned for one year and three months by FIFA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport for violating doping regulations.

After his ban was lifted, Zambrano joined Maribor.

During his six-month spell at Maribor, Zambrano made seven appearances for the Slovenian PrvaLiga club in all competitions, scoring two goals.
