Morgan Rogers just wants to continue enjoying playing football and is grateful for his family's continued support.

Morgan Rodgers, 23, recently joined Premier League giants Chelsea. The English midfielder said he just wants to maintain the pure enjoyment and happiness he has when playing football, and he is very grateful for his family's dedication, help and support.

Morgan Rodgers previously played for Aston Villa, contributing 10 goals and 7 assists for Unai Emery's team in the 2025/26 Premier League season, and also helping Aston Villa win the Europa League title that season with 3 goals. Furthermore, in the earlier 2026 World Cup, Morgan Rodgers and his teammates fought their way through the competition to ultimately win third place.

In an interview, Morgan Rodgers said, "I always remind myself that I play football because I love it. When I was a kid, I remember playing football freely, full of joy and passion, with a smile always on my face."

"No matter where I am or which team I play for, I want to always retain the joy and happiness that got me to where I am today. I don't want those feelings to be swallowed up by the pressure of the top arena. I just want to enjoy football and enjoy every day."

Morgan Rodgers continued, "Manager Xabi Alonso's football philosophy aligns perfectly with my understanding of the game and the style of football I want to play. In the past few days, Palmer has been constantly calling and texting me."

“My family has truly given everything for me. They created a platform for me to play football, allowing me to freely develop my talent. They accompanied me to every match and supported me every step of the way. Their presence here with me means a great deal to me, because without them, I wouldn't be who I am today.”

Morgan Rogers also said, "My family has always encouraged me to be my most authentic self and to stay free and happy. No matter what decisions I make or where I end up, they want me to stay that way because that's the best version of me."

When discussing the challenges he has faced throughout his career, Morgan Rodgers said, "I have really experienced a lot of challenges, such as unsuccessful loan spells, not getting playing time, ups and downs in the team, and various difficulties when living away from home. These are things that every player goes through."

"My previous loan spell at Manchester City taught me how to face adversity, whether it was not getting playing time, fighting to win, or battling to avoid relegation. These experiences taught me how to turn setbacks into motivation to keep going. I went through all of this at a very young age, which is why I'm standing here today. I feel like I've seen a lot and accumulated a wealth of experience."

In addition, Morgan Rogers said, "My brother is a very good person and has inspired me to become a better person. He has helped me understand myself better, and that is really important.
