Lundberg defeats Boozer to win Summer League title for the first time in 13 years

July 24th news, The Golden State Warriors clinched the NBA Summer League title in Las Vegas. Thanks to a stellar performance from rookie forward Axel Lundberg , the Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 94-90 to win the 2026 NBA Summer League championship.
Lundberg finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, dominating his matchup against 2026 lottery pick Cameron Boozer . The 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft , Lundberg recently won the NCAA championship with the University of Michigan, becoming only the second player in history to win both an NCAA Division I title and a Las Vegas Summer League title in the same year .
“ I came here simply to prove I’m a winner, ” Lundberg said . “ I don’t care about individual stats, I only care about the results. Back in Michigan, we played team basketball, and we play the same with the Warriors now. That’s how you win games and win championships. ”
The Warriors finished the Summer League with a 5-1 record, winning their first Summer League title since 2013. They also became the third team to win multiple championships, following the Sacramento Kings and the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the Finals, Grizzlies' third overall pick, Cameron Boozer , also had a standout performance, contributing 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. He hit a crucial three-pointer late in the third quarter, helping his team briefly take a double-digit lead. However, Lundberg scored consecutive points in the final quarter, leading the Warriors to a comeback victory.
" Our fighting spirit, willpower, and determination not to lose ultimately helped us win the game, " Lundberg said.
