Newcastle United announced on their official website on Thursday that Levante's young Guinea-Bissau forward Afner Cá has joined the club on a free transfer.
According to Newcastle's official statement, Cá has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031. He will initially represent the U21s team.
After completing his transfer, Cá, who was interviewed by the Premier League powerhouse's official website for the first time, said: "The development prospects, lifestyle, and the club's ambitions here all make me feel that this is the right choice."
"I'm a striker who likes to find space, link up attacks, and fight for the team. Scoring goals is certainly an important part of my game, but I always focus on contributing to the team and doing everything I can to help the team win."
About Afner Cá
The 19-year-old Afner Cá was born on July 8, 2007, in Bissau, the capital of Guinea-Bissau. He ist 1.92 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a right winger. He holds dual Guinean-Bissau and Portuguese citizenship.
Cá played for the youth academy of a local Guinean-Bissau club in his early years. In 2023, he joined Amora's youth acadeym and made his first-team debut the following year.
In the summer of 2025, Cá joined Levante.
Last season, Cá made 27 appearances for the La Liga club's U19s team in all competitions, scoring 4 goals.
