Maresca is honored to succeed Guardiola as Manchester City manager.

Manchester City's new manager, Maresca, said at a press conference that it was an honor to succeed Guardiola as manager of Manchester City, but also considered it a huge challenge.

The 46-year-old Maresca previously managed Chelsea, where he led the Blues to win the European Championship and the Club World Cup.

Following the departure of Pep Guardiola, who led Manchester City to numerous successes, Maresca became the new manager of the "Citizens" at the end of June and signed a three-year contract.

Maresca said, "I know this club very well. I worked here many years ago, so I am very familiar with the staff and the overall operation of the club."

"When a club has only changed three head coaches in nearly 20 years, it is enough to show that the club has a very stable and mature management structure. They know when to give the coach enough time and understand the importance of patience."

Maresca said, "From the moment Manchester City contacted me, I never doubted whether I should come to this great club."

Furthermore, when discussing Guardiola, with whom he previously worked at Manchester City, Maresca stated, "I've said it many times: for the past 20 to 25 years, Guardiola has been the best manager in the world. To succeed him as manager of this team is both a challenge and a wonderful opportunity and an honor."

"History has shown that when a legendary manager leaves after many years of service, his successor often goes through a difficult period. Similar situations occurred after Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United and Arsène Wenger left Arsenal."

Maresca added, "This is a challenge for me, and I have to try to make the right decisions, not only for the club, but also for the fans and everyone."
