Nottingham Forest have officially announced the contract extension with Ibrahim Sangare, which will run until 2029.

Nottingham Forest have officially confirmed that they have extended the contract of midfielder Ibrahim Sangaray until the summer of 2029. Since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2023, the Ivorian international has established himself in the team and become an indispensable member of the midfield. Last season, he made 43 appearances for Nottingham Forest in all competitions, playing a vital role in the team's system.

Speaking about his contract extension, Ibrahim Sangare first expressed his gratitude to the Nottingham Forest fans who have supported the team since he joined in 2023, and said he hopes to continue improving himself and contributing more to the team in the future. He said, "I am very happy to be able to extend my contract with the club. I want to sincerely thank all the fans for their continued support. Although last season's league campaign was not easy, we always gave our all in the Europa League and did not disappoint everyone's expectations."

"No matter what happens, the fans have always given us their greatest support, so I'm really happy to be able to complete the contract extension. They've given me so much encouragement all along, and we've built a very deep connection, which I cherish very much. Thank you to all the fans for your support along the way, long live Nottingham!"

“I’ve been with Nottingham Forest for three years now, and during that time I’ve really come to be a part of the community. This team feels like another family to me now, and I’m happy every day and glad to continue to stay here. I feel a stronger sense of belonging here than ever before.”

“For any player, the most important thing is to consistently get playing time and maintain a stable rhythm. Last season I got more playing time, which made me very happy and helped me improve. I feel like I'm gradually integrating into the team and taking on more responsibility. Going forward, I will continue to work hard, maintain this momentum, and contribute more to the team.”

During the 2026 World Cup, Ibrahim Sangare played 3 matches for Ivory Coast and provided 1 assist, helping the team successfully enter the round of 32, creating the best result in the national team's World Cup history and advancing from the group stage for the first time.

Ibrahim Sangale continued, “After the World Cup, I returned to my hometown and spent an unforgettable time with my family. It meant a lot to me, and they were very happy to see me. Participating in the World Cup for the first time and being able to return to my homeland to share this joy with my family was an experience I cherished immensely. They were not only happy for me but also proud of everything I had achieved.”

Ibrahim Sangare has returned to the team and is now involved in the final stages of pre-season training. This is his first training session under new head coach Oliver Glasner, who officially took over as Nottingham Forest's head coach in July.

Speaking about the new head coach, Ibrahim Sangare said, "It feels really good to be back on the training ground and preparing with my teammates. With the new season approaching, the team has a new head coach, and everyone is full of expectations for the future. We will do our best to prepare and hope to have a good start to the new season and maintain this momentum."

"Team cohesion has always been a crucial foundation for success. Entering the new season, we must remain united, and every player must take responsibility and contribute to the team. Only by supporting each other, working together, and continuously improving our overall teamwork can the team become stronger."

“I am very happy to meet the new head coach and start working together. Since I just returned to the team after the holiday, we haven’t had much time to talk yet, but we have had some initial communication since the first training session. I look forward to the new season under his leadership and believe that with his coaching ability and rich experience, the team will be able to make great progress.”
