Fisher: The Heat remain DeRozan's most likely destination.

According to NBA insider Jack Fisher, the Miami Heat have become the most likely destination for six-time All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan.

"The Heat have been a potential destination for DeRozan for years, and there have been close connections between the two sides. I do think the Heat are still the most likely place for DeRozan right now...other teams simply don't have enough salary cap space," Fisher pointed out on the B/R program.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, DeRozan himself is open to joining the Heat. NBA insider Brett Siegel has also previously mentioned that the Heat have listed DeRozan as a core backup after missing out on LeBron James.

However, it remains uncertain whether the Heat are willing to use their remaining mid-level exception to complete this signing. According to a recent report by ESPN's Shams Charania, the Heat also have a strong interest in Klay Thompson.

DeMar DeRozan, the 9th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft, has played for the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, and Sacramento Kings throughout his career. To date, he has appeared in 1264 regular season games, averaging 21.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.0 steals in 34.5 minutes per game, with a 47.1% field goal percentage and a 30.2% three-point percentage.

DeRozan also played 63 playoff games, averaging 21.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals in 37.6 minutes per game. His most representative playoff achievement was undoubtedly leading the Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2015/16 season.

Since being waived by the Kings earlier this month, DeRozan has been unemployed. He has also been linked with several teams, including the Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Washington Wizards.
