Former Miami Heat star Josh Richardson announces retirement, ending his ten-year professional basketball career.

Former NBA guard Josh Richardson officially announced his retirement via social media, bringing his decade-long professional basketball career to a close.

As the 40th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Richardson quickly rose to prominence with the Miami Heat and developed into a beloved, hard-core guard thanks to his tough defense, aggressive play, and clutch three-point shooting.

During his NBA career, Richardson played for several teams, including the Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs, and New Orleans Pelicans. He played a total of 554 NBA regular season games, averaging 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.

During his time with the Heat in the 2018-19 season, Richardson had a career-best season, averaging 16.6 points per game. After leaving the NBA, he briefly joined the Real Zaragoza in Spain, but left after playing three games, subsequently ending his playing career.

In his retirement statement, Richardson wrote emotionally, "I always give it my all, so I can say this without regret. The road to success is never ready-made, and from high school to the professional arena, I have given my all every day to be the best I can be."

Richardson's retirement has garnered well wishes from numerous NBA stars. Heat legend Dwyane Wade left a message praising him: "Coolest brother, I really enjoyed playing alongside you." Former teammate Tobias Harris also offered his sincerest wishes for Richardson's future.
