July 31 - Former Miami Heat guard Josh Richardson announced his retirement. The veteran , who played for six NBA teams, will bid farewell to professional basketball at the age of 32 .
Richardson announced his decision via his personal social media, stating that he had no regrets: " I've always given my all, so I can say this without any regrets. I'm grateful to be able to love this sport, and basketball has given me the same in return. "
Richardson was selected by the Heat in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft and quickly entered the team's rotation, playing an important role in the playoffs. He had his career peak in the 2018-19 season, averaging 16.6 points per game .
After that, Richardson played for the 76ers , Mavericks, Celtics, Spurs, and Pelicans. In 2023 , Richardson returned to the Heat, but his performance gradually declined. In the 2024-25 season, he only played 8 games for the Heat and did not get a starting opportunity. Last season, he also briefly played for the Spanish club Real Zaragoza.
