Mamadou Sangare admitted that he is looking forward to starting a new chapter at Brentford and will do his best to contribute to the team.

Brentford's new signing, Mamadou Sangare, has spoken about his reasons for joining the team. The 24-year-old Malian midfielder joined from Ligue 1 side Lens this summer, signing a five-year contract with an option to extend for another year.

When asked about his decision to join Brentford, Mamadou Sangare said, "They showed a very strong desire to sign me, which made me feel recognized by the club. When a team is willing to put in the effort to sign a player, it is very important for the player's future development. I also had in-depth discussions with the club's management and was happy to feel their trust and respect for me."

“Therefore, I think coming to Brentford was a very good decision. I have spoken with many people at the club, and everyone has expressed their desire for me to join the team, which makes me very happy and makes me even more excited to start a new chapter here.”

In the 2025/26 season, Mamadou Sangaré experienced a significant breakthrough in his career. He displayed an exceptional level of play at Lens, helping the team secure a runner-up finish in Ligue 1 and lift the French Cup trophy for the first time in their history. Furthermore, his outstanding performance throughout the season earned him a place in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.

Speaking about his last season at Lens, Mamadou Sangarre said: "It was a very special experience. We had a strong team and a group of excellent coaches and staff, which enabled us to achieve such outstanding results. I will always be grateful to Lens for the opportunities and help they gave me, which helped me grow and prepare me for the challenges ahead. I wish the club all the best in the future."

Mamadou Sangaray's career has been full of experience, having honed his skills in leagues in Mali, Austria, Belgium, and France. Now, this dynamic midfielder is about to make his Premier League debut and looks forward to showcasing his abilities under manager Keith Andrews.

He continued, "I'm really looking forward to playing in the Premier League, as it's one of the most competitive leagues in the world. It will be a completely new challenge for me, but I'm already very motivated. I hope to do my best to help the team."

“I believe I can bring something different to the team. I am a midfielder who values defense, enjoys possession, and wants to control the tempo of the game. At the same time, I have certain technical abilities, enjoy physical confrontations, and strive to help the team regain possession. I believe my characteristics can help the team achieve its goals this season.”
