Inter Milan, nicknamed the "Nerazzurri," came from behind to equalize through a goal from Pavard in a friendly match, and ultimately defeated Premier League giants Manchester City 3-1 in a penalty shootout. Augusto stated that the team is ready for a great season and will continue to strive to achieve its goals in all competitions.
In the 14th minute, Semenio passed the ball across the box, and Divock Mbama received it before slotting it home from inside the penalty area, giving Manchester City a 1-0 lead. In the 20th minute, Dimarco passed the ball back to Pavard, who slotted it home to equalize for Inter Milan at 1-1.
In the penalty shootout, Zielinski, Mosconi, and Matteo Lavelli scored. Ultimately, Inter Milan defeated Manchester City 3-1 on penalties.
Inter Milan defender Augusto said, "We've maintained a high level of training over the past 10 days and had a very fulfilling week. These are our first preseason friendlies, and the goal is to improve our physical condition and help everyone rediscover their match fitness."
