Ajax announced on their official website on Tuesday that Barcelona's Germany international goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has joined the club on-loan.
According to the Eredivisie giants' official statement, ter Stegen will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, and the loan agreement does not include a buy-out clause.
About Marc-André ter Stegen
The 34-year-old Marc-André ter Stegen was born on April 30, 1992, in Mönchengladbach, Germany. He is 1.87 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.
Ter Stegen joined Borussia Mönchengladbach's youth academy at the age of four, began playing for the reserve team in 2009, and completing his Borussia Mönchengladbach first-team debut in April 2011.
During his four-year spell wth Die Fohlen, Ter Stegen's outstanding performances attracted intense interest from Barcelona.
In May 2014, Ter Stegen joined Barcelona for €12 million.
In the summer of 2025, with the arrival of Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczęsny's contract extension, Ter Stegen's status in the team instantly dropped to third-choice goalkeeper.
This January, Ter Stegen joined Girona on-loan, but unfortunately, he couldn't help the club avoid relegation.
Since joining the Blaugrana, Ter Stegen has made 423 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions, conceding 416 goals and keeping 176 clean sheets. He has won six La Liga titles, six Copa del Rey titles, four Supercopa de España titles, one Champions League title, one UEFA Super Cup title, and one FIFA Club World Cup with the club.
