Como officially announced the loan signing of Brazilian international Jan Couto.

Como 1907 officially announced the signing of Brazilian international Jan Couto on loan from Borussia Dortmund until the end of the 2026/27 season. The full-back, born in 2002, came through the youth academy of Coritiba in Brazil and joined Manchester City in 2020. He subsequently spent time on loan at Girona and Braga before moving to Dortmund, where he will now permanently join the Bundesliga club in 2025.  

Jan Couto is a technically gifted and highly attacking right-winger capable of playing in multiple positions, including right-back and right wing-back. He possesses excellent ball control and dribbling skills on the flanks, and has extensive experience in high-level competitions, having played in the Bundesliga, Champions League, Europa League, and FIFA Club World Cup.  

At the national team level, Jan Couto showed outstanding potential early on. He won the 2019 U17 World Cup with the Brazilian U17 national team and made his senior national team debut in 2023, officially starting his Brazilian national team career.  

Como 1907 head coach Cesc Fabregas said of the signing of Jan Couto: "Jan Couto is a very brave and technically gifted player. His arrival will give us more tactical options on the right flank. He likes to push forward, is full of energy in the game, and his characteristics fit our football philosophy very well. Although he is still young, he has already accumulated a wealth of high-level match experience, and we believe he can further improve himself here."  

Speaking about joining Como 1907, Jan Couto said: “I am very happy to be here. The team’s style of play and football philosophy are very appealing to me, and I hope to do my best to help the team continue to grow and improve. I believe that joining Como is an important step in my career, and I can’t wait to start this new journey.”
