Constantinos Mavropanos: Returning to the Premier League is the team's common goal, and everyone must give their all.

West Ham United's Player of the Year, Constantinos Mavropanos, said that after a summer of rest, he is fully prepared both physically and mentally and will be in top form for the 2026/27 season, looking forward to helping the team achieve its goal of returning to the Premier League.

Last season, Greek center-back Constantinos Mavropanos was named West Ham United's Player of the Year for his consistent and outstanding performance. However, despite his brilliant individual performance, the team ultimately failed to escape relegation. After the season ended, he first joined the Greek national team for international matches in early June, and then returned to his hometown to spend the holidays with family and friends, completing his physical recovery and mental adjustment for the new season.

Speaking about the team's relegation last season, Constantinos Mavropanos said: "I was very disappointed by the team's relegation because, in my opinion, West Ham United should have stayed in the Premier League. However, it is a fact that cannot be changed, and we all have to take responsibility."

“Throughout the offseason, I’ve been reflecting on everything that happened last season. But I also understand that I need time to fully recover both physically and mentally. After this break, I’ve regained my form and am now ready to fully commit to the new season.”

"After the setbacks of last season, we have set a new goal: to return to the Premier League as soon as possible. To achieve this, everyone must give their all and put all their energy into the team. Only by working together, being down-to-earth, and fighting to the very end can we have a chance to accomplish our mission."

Speaking about the team's preseason preparations, Constantinos Mavropanos said, "Throughout the preseason, we have completed a lot of training, investing a lot of time and energy in both the defensive system and offensive coordination, hoping to lay a solid foundation for the new season."

"The results of preseason friendlies don't fully reflect a team's performance in official matches. What's really important is using this time to establish a stable tactical system, develop the team's playing style, and build a solid defensive foundation. I think we've made a lot of positive progress, which allows everyone to be in better shape and have more confidence for the new season."

With the new season approaching, West Ham United will host Portsmouth in the first round of the League Cup, with over 50,000 fans expected to gather at the London Stadium. Constantinos Mavropanos added, "First of all, having over 50,000 season ticket holders is truly incredible. It perfectly demonstrates the love the fans have for the team. We've always looked forward to returning home and playing in front of them, and we believe it will be a fantastic match."
