Middlesbrough have officially signed 22-year-old goalkeeper Radek Wittek.

Middlesbrough have officially announced the permanent signing of 22-year-old Czech goalkeeper Radek Wittek from Manchester United. Wittek previously played on loan at Bristol City, where he displayed excellent form in the Championship last season, winning the club's Player of the Year award for his consistent performances. Now, with the permanent transfer, Wittek will embark on a significant new phase in his career.

Radek Wittek was born in the Czech Republic and was selected for various youth national teams at a young age, gradually accumulating international playing experience. In 2020, he left Olomouc Sigma in the Czech Republic to join Premier League giants Manchester United, subsequently entering the club's youth academy for further development. During his time at Manchester United, Radek Wittek helped the team win the FA Youth Cup and also earned the opportunity to represent the first team in preseason friendlies, gaining valuable experience for his future professional career.

To gain more first-team playing time, Radek Wittek was loaned out to Accrington Stanley, Albion Linz, and Bristol City during his career. Through these stints in different leagues, he continuously accumulated senior-team experience and further improved his goalkeeping skills and on-field abilities. Particularly during his time with Bristol City last season, Wittek displayed consistent and outstanding performances in the Championship, ultimately earning him the club's Player of the Year award.

Middlesbrough have high hopes for the signing of Radek Wittek. The young goalkeeper possesses excellent physical attributes and solid goalkeeping technique, and has already gained valuable senior-team experience through last season's Championship campaign. Now officially a permanent member of Middlesbrough, Wittek will face more high-level challenges at the Riverside Stadium and looks forward to further proving his ability with consistent performances.

After completing the transfer, Radek Wittek said: "Coming to Middlesbrough feels fantastic. It's a completely new challenge for me, and I can't wait to be a part of the team. I'm impressed by the club's development plans; I can clearly feel the team's ambition and the club's goals for the future. I'm happy to be a part of it and look forward to making progress together with the team."

Speaking about his goals after joining Middlesbrough, Radek Wittek said: "Our goal is very clear, which is to strive for promotion to the Premier League. I believe that everyone at the club shares the same goal and ideal, and I myself hope to contribute to achieving this goal. Now, I can't wait to start this new journey."

Radek Wittek's arrival makes him Middlesbrough's seventh new signing this summer. With the young goalkeeper officially joining the team, Middlesbrough's squad strength and depth have been further enhanced. In the new season, the team will continue to strive for promotion to the Premier League and challenge for a higher stage.
