Everton have officially announced the signing of Brennan Johnson, with both parties agreeing to a contract until 2030.

Everton have officially confirmed that Brennan Johnson has completed his transfer from Crystal Palace, with Dwight McNeil joining as part of the deal. The current Welsh international striker has reached a four-year agreement with Everton, running until the end of June 2030.  

Brennan Johnson possesses exceptional sprinting ability and outstanding adaptability in the attacking third, capable of playing in multiple attacking positions. He gradually made a name for himself at Nottingham Forest. The attacker has now made 45 appearances for the Welsh national team and represented them at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.  

At the club level, the 25-year-old scored the only goal in the 2025 Europa League final, helping Tottenham Hotspur defeat Manchester United to lift the trophy. He then moved to Crystal Palace, where he won the UEFA Cup last season, adding another European trophy to his career.  

After completing his signing, Brennan Johnson, who will wear the number 22 jersey for Everton next season, gave an official interview to the club. He said: "I am very excited to be a part of Everton. It is a club with a rich history, and when I learned that the team was interested in signing me, I immediately became very interested in the opportunity and hoped to come here as soon as possible."  

“There are many factors that led me to choose this club. I highly approve of the head coach, the current squad, and the club’s future plans. It’s clear that the team is working hard for a better future, and so am I, so I think we are very much in sync.”  

“I came here hoping to prove what I can do. The head coach talked to me about how to rediscover my best form, which is very important to me. He knows my strengths very well and believes that I have the ability to reach that level again. I feel very honored to have the recognition of such a senior and accomplished coach.”

Most importantly, whether representing the club or facing the fans, I will always maintain a giving attitude and fulfill my responsibilities in the right way. I know these qualities are very important here, and there is no room for negotiation. I believe everyone can feel this from my performance. Of course, I also hope to use my speed, scoring ability, and other advantages to help the team.”

Brennan Johnson joined Nottingham Forest's youth academy at the age of 8 and progressed from youth teams to the professional team there. He made his senior debut at the age of 18 in a match against West Bromwich Albion.  

After a brief loan spell at Lincoln City to gain experience, he quickly established himself in Forest's attack and became a key figure in their offensive system. In the 2021/22 season, he helped the team reach the Championship promotion play-offs, where James Garner was also playing.  

The following season, Brennan Johnson scored 19 goals in all competitions, becoming Nottingham Forest's top scorer and helping the team return to the Premier League after many years. After promotion to the top flight, he participated in all of the team's Premier League matches in the 2022/23 season, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists, including 3 goals in the two matches against Everton.  

His outstanding performances ultimately led to his transfer in September 2023, with Brennan Johnson subsequently joining Tottenham Hotspur. During his time in North London, he helped the team end a 17-year trophy drought and scored the decisive goal in the 2024/25 Europa League final. Before moving to Crystal Palace, he had already contributed an impressive 18 goals and 7 assists across all competitions that season.  

Brennan Johnson then said: "I have some very memorable experiences playing against Everton before, and it is these experiences that have made this club hold a special place in my heart. My first Premier League goal was scored at Goodison Park, and that moment was very meaningful to me. I had watched countless Premier League matches before, so being able to stand in such a historic stadium and score my first Premier League goal in such a powerful atmosphere is an experience I will never forget."  

"Now the team has a new home stadium, which is a very modern and impressive stadium. I played there last season. I still remember the atmosphere of that game vividly. It was tense, oppressive, and full of hostility, which is exactly the kind of atmosphere a home stadium should have. Many teams go through an adjustment period after moving into a new stadium and it is difficult to maintain the original atmosphere, but the playing environment I experienced there last year was really excellent."
