Genoa midfielder Patrizio Masini officially joins Frosinone on-loan with an obligation to buy..

Frosinone announced on their official website on Tuesday that Genoa's Italian midfielder Patrizio Masini has joined the club on-loan with an obligation to buy.

According to Frosinone's official statement, Masini will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season. After that, he will sign on a long-term four-year deal with the club, which runs until the summer of 2031.

Furthermore, according to Sky Sports' resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Frosinone will pay Genoa €5 million to buy out Masini's rights, with an additional €1 million in performance-related bonuses if the club avoids relegation in the new season.

After completing his transfer procedures, Masini, who was interviewed by the Frosinone official website for the first time, Masini said, "Choosing to join Frosinone was easy for me because I immediately felt the club's strong desire to sign me."

"My first impression here is very good. I've completed my medical and arrived at this stadium I've never been to before. I hope to soon be playing here with the fans."

"I'm a player with a lot of room for improvement, especially in terms of technique and playmaking. My main strengths are desire, determination, tackling ability, and running distance, so running ability is absolutely key."

"Serie A is very competitive, and we must give our all in every game. I sincerely hope to repay the club's trust in me, and of course, we hope to remain in Serie A next season." 

About Patrizio Masini

The 25-year-old Masini was born on January 27, 2001, in La Spezia, Italy. He is 1.82 meters tall and primarily plays as a center midfielder, but can also play as a right midfielder or defensive midfielder.

Masini joined Genoa's youth academy at the age of 11. After being promoted to the first-team in 2020, he was immediately loaned-out to Sambenedettese, Lecco, Novara, and Ascoli successively.

Upon returning from his loan spells in the summer of 2024, Masini completed his Genoa first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in October of that year.

During his two-year spell with I Griffone, Masini made 54 appearances for the Serie A club in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
