Adam Armstrong: We must give the fans an explanation and do everything we can to help the club return to the Premier League.

Wolves striker Adam Armstrong says the team has been preparing intensively throughout the summer, hoping to be in top form for the new Championship season and aiming to return to the Premier League as soon as possible. The experienced striker is very familiar with the Championship, having already scored over 80 goals in the second tier of English football.  

Adam Armstrong is keenly aware of the challenges Wolves face in their quest for a quick return to the Premier League. He scored early in the new season in the League Cup match against Port Vale, Wolves' first goal under manager Cesar Peschoto, which helped the team advance to the next round. He hopes to maintain his excellent shooting form for the upcoming match against Blackburn Rovers at Molineux Stadium.  

Speaking about the team's successful start to the new season, Adam Armstrong said: "This is the result we hoped to see. The entire preseason preparation phase went well, and we are constantly getting to know the new coach and his tactical requirements. I think my teammates played exceptionally well today, creating and scoring goals, and also taking control of the game, so it's a satisfying start. Personally, I'm also very happy to have scored goals and helped the team advance."  

"We know we need to give the fans an explanation, so we must go all out to help the club return to the Premier League, which is what everyone wants to achieve. To achieve this goal, we must first play well in the first game. Although today is a cup match, we should carefully analyze the gains and losses and quickly shift our focus to Blackburn Rovers."  

Speaking about the team's adaptation to the new head coach's tactical system, Adam Armstrong said, "What we need to do most right now is maintain the intensity of our daily training, get to know our teammates' characteristics, and try to bring out each other's strengths. At the same time, we also need to implement the coach's requirements in training and games as accurately as possible, which is crucial for us."  

"The new season has just begun, and we still have a long way to go, but the current situation is very positive. Everyone has put in a lot of hard work over the past period to build the foundation we have today. So we can't stop now and we must continue to maintain this momentum. We all know that the Championship will be very competitive this year, so starting the new season with a victory is undoubtedly a great start."  

Adam Armstrong believes the Championship season will be extremely competitive. He stated, "This year's Championship will definitely not be easy. Many teams with promotion potential will be vying for the title, and with the increase in playoff spots, the competition will only intensify. I've also spoken with some teammates who don't have Championship experience, telling them how intense the competition is in this league, and that we must rely on the efforts of everyone in the team."  

"Our goal is of course to win every game as much as possible and always set higher standards for ourselves. However, we must also remain patient and focus on each opponent we face, because there will be all sorts of difficulties in the long season. Regardless of the results, we need to stay united and strive to build a consistent good record to lay the foundation for our eventual return to the Premier League."  

Regarding the next match against Blackburn Rovers, Armstrong said: "I had a very important career with Blackburn Rovers, they gave me the opportunity to break through. I came there when I was 21, and the manager at the time was Tony Mowbray. Now, many years later, he is back as the manager of Blackburn Rovers, which is really interesting."  

“Tony Mowbray gave me a very valuable opportunity back then, allowing me to get regular playing time in the Championship and also giving me a lot of trust. It was that experience that allowed me to prove myself again and eventually get the chance to return to the Premier League and join Southampton. I am very grateful to both him and Blackburn Rovers.”  

“Blackburn Rovers is a fantastic club. I had a wonderful time there and have many great memories, so I’m really looking forward to playing against them again. Before the game, I’ll definitely talk to Tony Mowbray, who has been a huge help to me and has gotten me to where I am today. I’ll be very happy to see him again. Of course, I also hope to score against his team.”
