Paris Saint-Germain officially announce the signing of Barcelona's Spain international forward Ferran Torres..

Paris Saint-Germain announced on its official website on Saturday that the club has signed World Cup-winning Spain international forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona.

According to the Ligue 1, UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Super Cup defending champions' official statement, Torres has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031.

Additionally, according to Spanish media outlet Relevo's resident renowned Italian transfer news journalist Matteo Moretto, Le Parisiens paid the Blaugrana a total of €50 million to sign Torres.

After completing the transfer procedures, Torres, who was interviewed by the Paris Saint-Germain official website for the first time, said: “I am delighted to embark on a new chapter with an ambitious club like Paris Saint-Germain. I would like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos, and Head Coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, and I hope to help the team win as many trophies as possible.”

About Ferran Torres

The 26-year-old Torres, nicknamed El Tiburón (The Shark), was born on February 29, 2000, in Foíos, Valencia, Spain. He is 1.84 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left or right winger.

Torres joined Valencia's youth academy at the age of six, started playing with their B team in 2016, before completing his Valencia first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Copa del Rey match in November of the following year.

During his three-year spell with Los che, Torres won the Copa del Rey once, attracting attention from Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Liverpool.

In August 2020, Torres joined Manchester City for €23 million.

During his six-month stint with Manchester City, despite being plagued by injuries, Torres still helped the team win the Premier League and Carabao Cup titles, reach the Champions League final, and still attracted even stronger pursuit from Barcelona.

In January 2021, Barcelona successfully signed Torres for €56 million.

Since joining the Blaugrana, so far, Torres has made 207 appearances for Barça in all competitions, scoring 65 goals and providing 23 assists, winning La Liga and the Supercopa de España three times each, and the Copa del Rey twice.
