Rayo Vallecano announced on Saturday on its official website that the club has signed Georgia international winger Giorgi Tsitaishvili from Dynamo Kyiv.
According to the La Liga club’s official statement, Tsitaishvili has signed on a three-year deal with club which runs until the summer of 2029.
About Giorgi Tsitaishvili
Giorgi Tsitaishvili, 26, was born on November 18, 2000, in Rishon LeZion, Israel. He stands 1.71 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger, though he can also play as a left wing-back, right winger, or right wing-back. He holds triple citizenship—Israeli, Georgian, and Ukrainian. His father, Klimenti, is also a former professional soccer player who played as a center forward.
Tsitaishvili joined Dynamo Kyiv’s youth academy at age 12 and completed his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in the Ukrainian Cup final match against Shakhtar Donetsk in May 2018.
Since December 2020, Tsitaishvili has been away on long-term loan. During this spell, he successively played on-loan for Wisła Kraków, Lech Poznań, Granada, Metz, and Dinamo Batumi. While at Dinamo Batumi, he helped the team win the Georgian Premier League title.
During his three-year spell with Dynamo Kyiv, Tsitaishvili made 24 appearances across all competitions for the Ukrainian Premier League powerhouse, recording two assists and helping the team win two Ukrainian Super Cups and one Ukrainian Cup.
