Premier League club Coventry City has officially announced the signing of 25-year-old winger Yann Gboho from Ligue 1 club Toulouse.
The two sides have reached an agreement on a permanent transfer contract, and the deal is currently awaiting final approval for an England work visa.
As a versatile winger with excellent dribbling skills and tactical vision, Göbojo has been a key player in Toulouse's attack for the past two and a half seasons. In all competitions for the club, he has consistently delivered 19 goals and 12 assists.
Göbojo began his professional career at the Rennes youth academy in France. In the 2021-22 season, he played on loan for Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie, making 11 appearances in the UEFA Cup and helping the team reach the round of 16, marking his debut in European competition.
In August 2022, Geboho moved to the Belgian First Division, joining Cercle Brugge, where he contributed 4 goals and 9 assists in a year and a half. After returning to France in January 2024 to join Toulouse, he once again represented the team in the Europa League against Portuguese giants Benfica.
It is worth mentioning that Göbojo is also the cousin of Paris Saint-Germain winger Desiree Duai, and was selected for the French U16, U17 and U18 national youth teams many times in his early years.
Coventry City have warmly welcomed the signing of Göbojo, believing that his European experience, mature wing play, and ability to create direct threats will greatly enrich the team's tactical approach on the wings in the new season and further enhance the team's attacking depth in multiple positions in the front.
